About this project:
Mark Randall is a design professor at Parsons who is also a beekeeper. He makes B-Line Ice Cream in small batches, using wildflower honey produced from his own hives in Upstate New York. A hive of bees will fly 15,000 miles and visit 560,000 flowers to bring us a pint of B-Line ice cream. A worker bee, in its lifetime, only makes about 12 teaspoons of honey. Therefore, every drop of honey is incredibly valuable because it represents the life of a worker bee.
To communicate the inspiring story of Mark and his bees, I expanded his original branding and packaging design to tell the whole story. The result was an identity, packaging design, animation, and illustration introducing how honey is collected and produced by bees.
